Kenitra – Prison guards in the high security prison of Kénitra on Tuesday foiled a prison break of ten Islamist inmates belonging to the Islamist extremist group al Salafiya al Jihadiya, police sources said.
The group planned to use the sewage channel to reach the prison yard and climb the walls, which lead outside the prison, by using ropes made of rugs and sheets.
In 2008, nine Salafiya Jihadiya detainees escaped of the Kénitra prison by digging a tunnel, but they were all arrested.
