Rabat – The Moroccan economy should capitalize on the assets achieved in 2009, Moroccan Economy minister Eddine Mezouar said Thursday.
Speaking before the weekly cabinet meeting, Mezouar called for more vigilance with respect to the possible impacts of the international situation on the Moroccan economy.
He also called for stepping up the pace of reforms, initiated in Morocco during the latest years, government spokesperson Khalid Naciri said at a press briefing.
He added that despite the difficulties caused by the effects of the global economic crisis, the Moroccan economy proved « great flexibility » thanks to the choices and reforms made in Morocco.
The Moroccan economy achieved “satisfactory performance” in 2009 in terms of Gross Domestic Product, public finance and inflation control, Mezour said.
