Rabat – The Moroccan government takes great interest in the issue of the areas affected by floods, said on Thursday Prime Minister, Abbas El Fassi.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting held in Rabat, the Prime Minister said the government has shown genuine interest in that issue by setting up an ad-hoc ministerial committee to deal with the fallouts of the flood-hit areas.
The Prime minister said the government spokesman, Khalid Naciri, during the press briefing, also recalled the steps taken by the Moroccan authorities to cope with the floods’ impact and ensure the follow-up and mobilization of the ministerial committee.
He also expressed sympathy with the population hit by the floods and highlighted the efforts made by local authorities to provide the necessary aid to the victims and ensure the restoration of infrastructure.
