Spanish official hails morocco’s extensive regionalisation project

Cordova – Spain’s Secretary of State for Territorial Cooperation Gaspar Zarrias commended, on Tuesday, Morocco’s extensive regionalisation project launched by HM King Mohammed VI last January.
The extensive regionalisation process initiated by Morocco earlier this year should be commended, Zarrias underlined during a conference on the first EU-Morocco Forum of Local Authorities, held on 1-3 March.
« Morocco, which is a country committed to undertaking several reforms in many fields, is a strategic and reliable partner of the EU », Zarias said.
He underlined that the first EU-Morocco Summit, held this weekend in Granada, will support the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen the State of Law and the major structural reforms launched by HM the King.
This Summit will be a historic moment of the Spanish Presidency of the EU and a turning point in the Morocco-EU relations, the Spanish official said, stressing on the bilateral cooperation in many fields, particularly in terms of security and immigration.
